Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of characters who will branch out from the primary party to begin their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their status as key figures in the influential clan could help the group enter places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Explorers and Planners parties.
